1. How do I become a certified EFT practitioner in Australia?
To become a certified EFT practitioner in Australia, you must complete EFT Level 1 and Level 2 training with an accredited trainer, then fulfil certification requirements through EFT International.
Certification typically includes:
Completing Level 1 & Level 2 training
Documented case studies
Mentoring/supervision hours
Personal tapping sessions
Passing a written exam
Agreeing to ethical guidelines
Training with an EFT International Accredited Trainer ensures your qualification is globally recognised.
2. What is the difference between EFT Level 1 and Level 2?
EFT Level 1 teaches you how to use Tapping safely and effectively on yourself. EFT Level 2 trains you to work professionally with clients.
Level 1 focuses on:
The basic tapping sequence
Reducing stress and anxiety
Emotional regulation skills
Level 2 focuses on:
Identifying core issues
Trauma-informed techniques
Advanced practitioner skills
Ethical client work
If you want to become certified, both levels are required.
3. Is EFT Tapping training accredited?
Yes — when completed through an accredited trainer affiliated with EFT International.
Accredited training ensures:
A standardised curriculum
Trauma-aware methodology
Ethical and professional guidelines
International recognition
Be cautious of short, unaccredited courses that do not qualify you for certification.
4. How long does it take to become certified in EFT?
You can complete Level 1 and Level 2 training within several weeks (as in this April–May 2026 intake).
However, full certification depends on how quickly you complete:
Required mentoring hours
Case studies
Personal tapping sessions
Written exam
Most students complete certification within 6–12 months after finishing Level 2.
5. Can I do EFT training online?
Yes. Live online EFT training is fully recognised by EFT International when delivered by an accredited trainer.
Live online training allows you to:
Practice in breakout rooms
Receive real-time feedback
Engage in supervised exercises
Complete all required competencies
Pre-recorded courses alone do not qualify you for practitioner certification.
6. Do I need a psychology or counselling degree to train in EFT?
No.
You do not need prior therapy qualifications to complete Level 1 or Level 2.
However:
You must work within your professional scope of practice.
Additional qualifications may be required depending on how you intend to use EFT (e.g., clinical mental health settings).
Many students are coaches, nurses, teachers, HR professionals, or wellness practitioners.
7. Is EFT evidence-based?
Yes. Clinical EFT has a growing body of peer-reviewed research supporting its effectiveness for:
Anxiety
PTSD
Phobias
Stress reduction
Chronic pain
Clinical EFT differs from generic tapping because it follows structured, research-informed protocols.
8. What is Clinical EFT?
Clinical EFT refers to the evidence-informed application of Emotional Freedom Techniques used in therapeutic and professional settings.
It involves:
Structured protocols
Trauma-aware pacing
Measured outcome tracking
Ethical standards aligned with EFT International
Clinical EFT is often used by therapists, counsellors, and health professionals.
9. What techniques are taught in EFT Level 2?
Level 2 Practitioner Training includes:
The Movie Technique
Tell the Story Technique
Working with aspects
Chasing the Pain
Borrowing Benefits
Gentle trauma approaches
Core issue identification
These methods allow you to work safely and effectively with deeper emotional material.
10. How much can a certified EFT practitioner earn?
Income varies depending on your business model, location, and experience.
Certified practitioners may:
Run private sessions
Integrate EFT into therapy or coaching
Deliver corporate workshops
Offer online programs
Combine EFT with existing modalities
EFT is often used as an additional revenue stream rather than a standalone qualification initially.
11. Is EFT safe for trauma work?
EFT can be safe for trauma when delivered by properly trained practitioners who have completed Level 2 and trauma-informed training.
Without proper training, there is a risk of emotional overwhelm.
This is why accredited Level 2 training is essential before working with trauma clients.
12. When does the next EFT training start?
